The photo posted on Coast Reporter’s June 15 front page totally embodies the gentlemanly character of our departing mayor, while not revealing the silent intensity with which he pursued solutions to the many arising issues.
Too bad that several members of our community, both residents and some not resident in our town, have not only ignored the mayor’s humane poise in conducting Town business but have, instead, tried to take advantage of the mayor through ignoring accepted protocol within the chamber while concurrently projecting false and/or inaccurate claims.
After three years as councillor and, now, seven years as mayor, James Wayne Rowe has established a “standard” for municipal leadership to not only allow us to forget the awkward years immediately preceding his election, but to which standard any and all future successful candidates can, and should, aspire to duplicate.
Best wishes, Mr. Mayor, on your retirement from politics; you will be sorely missed “on the bench!”
