As Christmas Eve approaches, this recipe and poem will help preserve the magic and wonder of this festive season. I have used the recipe with young children for a long time. Someone gave it to me and the author is anonymous.
A handful of oats
A handful of any kind of birdseed
A handful of breadcrumbs – brown ones if you have them
A handful of beautiful thoughts
A handful of love
Mix together to make the magic reindeer food
Sprinkle on your lawn at night.
The moon will make it sparkle bright.
As Santa’s reindeer fly and roam,
This food will guide them to your home.
