We are blessed with many beautiful trails off the B&K road, used by both hikers and mountain bikers. As we were driving down one of the side roads Sunday after a gorgeous hike, a boy on his mountain bike flew off a jump from a forest trail (Mach Chicken) onto the road, landing just 10 metres in front of us. He hadn’t looked before leaping. Fortunately, we were driving very slowly, and stopped. His family followed, including their Dad, none of them looking for cars. Please – do whatever joyful craziness you want to do on the mountain bike trails (while watching for hikers), but stop and look before rejoining the logging roads. Many cars and trucks go very fast on these roads, and a joyful day could quickly turn into a tragic one.
