The best way to shop

Letters

Editor:

Even though it was a Saturday in December, the Sunnycrest Mall was really quiet. And I was able to go in and out of my favourite stores in Sechelt, Wilson Creek and Gibsons and get service with a smile right away.

Parking was no issue – and the Elves Crashing the Coast just added a bit of fun. I was happy to donate knowing the money was helping local families.

I was home in time to wrap a few parcels and have a relaxing glass of wine before heading off to a local potluck.

There I heard horror stories of ferry lineups, Vancouver traffic, lack of parking, exorbitant meter rates, large stores where it was impossible to find service, and having to pay extra to have your purchase gift-wrapped. People arrived at the potluck frazzled, having had no time to spare after getting off the ferry.

Why on earth would you put yourself through that? Our local merchants need our support. They are the ones we go to for support of our local charities, and kids’ sports teams.

Please, shop locally.
