I am a writer/researcher and historian who has been commissioned to write a limited-edition, fine arts book that will feature the paintings of Halfmoon Bay artist Sandy Kay. It will include a short history of the Smuggler Cove region with an emphasis on the bog in the marine provincial park.
We’d like to feature historic photos and intriguing personal anecdotes of those who have had memorable experiences in Smuggler Cove or its bog, before or after the beavers moved into the park. Ideally, we are looking for photos of people on site in this region from many previous decades – the older the better. This could include images of shíshálh people, pioneers, farmers, boaters, parks personnel, the beaver dams, etc.
