Re: “Number of overdose calls doubles in May,” June 19.
I take issue with the term “overdose.” This is a rather archaic term associated more with the 1950s than 2020. It contributes to the continued stigma placed on people who do drugs.
The opioid crisis is a result of a poisonous supply, not overindulgence.
We must legalize and de-stigmatize it now. We’ll all feel better.
