NDP right about contracts

Congratulations to the hardworking crews and supervisors looking after our roads. The highways contract protocols for mowing, dust control, and general maintenance now happen in a timely way since simple government changes eliminated motivation to cut corners or influence diligent contract enforcement.

In a letter to me, David Eby, B.C. Attorney General, correctly predicted that limiting provincial political campaign donations to $1200 per individual, union, or contractor would make all the difference.

The positive response of highways contractors and government workers should be encouraging to many seniors worried about plans to contract out seniors care facilities. Carefully monitored supervision and adherence to government contracts for seniors care will reduce the anxiety of many seniors while improving efficiency and quality of care at reasonable cost

David Eby and Premier John Horgan both deserve credit for making these sensible changes.
