Logo artless and sterile

Letters

Re: “New logo presented to council,” Sept. 27.

The depiction of a proposed new logo for the municipality is barely worth comment; it is sterile, unimaginative and certainly not artistic. I am sure that a good many of our local school children could have created something better and more appropriate.

A letter “S” divided into building lots in three colours is about as imaginative as hanging a wooden door on the walls of an art gallery and labelling it “Wooden Door”!

Why change the existing logo, which is distinctive and certainly easier on the eye? Why are taxpayers’ dollars paying for yet another change in our logo when we cannot find funds for increasing our water supply storage facilities?
