Re: “Third-party group emerges in lead-up to Sechelt campaign,” Aug. 10.

It is clear that Sean Eckford made every effort to discover the identity of the “nearly a dozen proud, but concerned residents of Sechelt” who have founded the third-party group, Sechelt Deserves Better. Evidently these people seek to influence the outcome of the forthcoming local election, yet lack the guts to reveal who they are. At a minimum, a spokesperson should be named. Without such identification, Coast Reporter should neither report their objectives nor provide them advertising space. We consider doing so to be contrary to journalistic standards.

We are inclined to sign-off Anonymous, but know you would withhold publication. Quite right, too.
