Clock ticking on council

Letters

Editor:

I was shocked to see in a report from Sechelt council that on a list of seven priorities for success, the very last item was water. Mayor Siegers and councillors all have jobs as a result of the last mayor and council being blind to the desire from a majority of voters to have something done about our water supply. I believe this was the reason the mayor and entire council were overwhelmingly replaced. This mayor and councillors have three years left to satisfy our water requirements or face the same fate. We don’t need to hear more about conservation, or have some kind of branding nonsense. Living in a rainforest and facing water restrictions in May is unacceptable. So is talk about restricting development. There is talk about rebelling over water payments and ignoring restrictions and defying fines. The message was clear. Solve the water supply issue. Three years and counting!
