We have recently lost our coordinator of emergency services on the Sunshine Coast. Our population is very vulnerable to various emergencies due to our location and geography. I hope that a replacement for Bill Elsner will be hired soon but I am wondering where such a hard-working and community-minded person will be found.
I met Mr. Elsner in 2006 when Davis Bay properties were flooded. His expert attention and support were much appreciated by the affected homeowners. Recently he spoke to our local community association and we were appreciative to learn of the SCRD emergency command centre, stockpiles of emergency and medical supplies and various other efforts that are in place to support our community in case of earthquake, fire, flood or other emergency. Thanks, Mr. Elsner, for your foresight and professionalism.
