Letters: Young man look at my life

Editor:

I just did a rewrite on a song entitled ‘Old Man Look at My Life’ to make it apply more to my life, now 85 years old and living here alone on the Coast. At this time of year, it may have some meaning to other folks living alone.

Young man look at my life

You’re a lot like I was

Young man look at my life

You’re a lot like I was

Young man look at my life

Eighty-five and there’s so much more

Living alone in a paradise

That makes me think of two

Love lost, such a cost

Just want things that don’t get lost

Like a coin that won’t get tossed

Rolling home to you

Young man take a look at my life I’m a lot like you are

I need someone to love the whole day through

Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that’s true

Lullabies, look in your eyes

Run around the same old town

Means a huge amount to me

Doesn’t mean that much to you

I’ve been first and last

Look at how the time goes past

But I’m all I got now
