My wife and I have electric heat in our two-level home here on the Sunshine Coast. We are both seniors and we DO NOT look forward to our increased BC Hydro bills during these colder temperatures. While we begin each billing period at a lower cost for our electricity, our BC Hydro rate then increases to a higher level when we reach (pass into) the next billing tier as we keep our home warm. Yes, we have increased our attic insulation to R60, yes, we keep our door weather stripping up to date, yes all our windows are high-efficiency Low E double glazed, yes we are careful with our lighting (all LEDs), NO we do not have an EV charging station, and yes we dress appropriately indoors during the winter months. I guess my PM is not willing to reward our household by using this much more costly clean energy? I guess he doesn’t need votes here in B.C.
