Editor: It is unconscionable that we on the Sunshine Coast, which is part of the West Coast rainforest, have not kept up with the need to provide adequate water that is commensurate with development – commercial, agricultural and residential.

It is unconscionable that we on the Sunshine Coast, which is part of the West Coast rainforest, have not kept up with the need to provide adequate water that is commensurate with development – commercial, agricultural and residential.

Before any more development is permitted in the district, the issue of water storage must be addressed and resolved. It is imperative that more water storage be created, that does not only match the current need but addresses future needs when more periods of drought are inevitable.
