If the democratic process says the majority rules why is the minority thinking the rules shouldn’t apply to them?
The first trucker I saw interviewed during the protest said he had no problem getting vaccinated, he just didn’t want the government to tell him he had to. Well, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard.
Government has been telling people what to do ever since the first election. We have to pay tax; we can’t kill people; we have to wear a motorcycle helmet, use a seatbelt, can’t text and drive, no smoking in buildings, on and on.
Everyone else crossing the border has to show proof of vaccination. What makes your right to not vaccinate trump my right to live? If you don’t want to vaccinate you don’t have to, you just can’t cross the border willy nilly. That way, both our rights are protected.
These “peaceful” protesters in Ottawa are harassing health care workers, are parking illegally, ruining the lives of thousands because they refuse to follow the same rules as everyone else crossing the border. No sympathy from me when you desecrate a Terry Fox statue and that of the unknown soldier. You have the right to protest but don’t make a fool of truly inspiring people who’ve given their lives for truly honorable ideals.
