I am shaking my head regarding our garbage, green waste, yard waste and recycling collection. Last week, on Wednesday, the first week of the new collection schedule, all went well. Garbage was collected and I had no green (food waste). This week, not so much. There was no collection of green waste, yard waste or recycling on my street. Friends who live on a different street and were scheduled for collection of green waste, yard waste and recycling on Thursday did not get collection of anything. We are all trying to support the new system but we need to be able to count on the collection schedule. Green waste was left at the curb and left unlocked as per the directions we have been given. Green waste stinks if not picked up and this is winter. Imagine what summer will be like. If the company can’t even pick up on the second week of the new system, perhaps we need a rethink of the system or of the company that is responsible for collection. I’m tired of hearing excuses.
