Editor:
The following letter was sent to MP Patrick Weiler and shared with Coast Reporter.
I was interested and encouraged to read your pamphlet on old-growth forest protection however, what I would like to have seen was a pamphlet on the water shortage for the Sunshine Coast.
I spoke to you on this subject about three years ago and at that time you said although you understood our problem it was primarily a provincial area of responsibility. I think that you now may start to understand that it is shifting into the federal camp with the involvement of shíshálh Nation appealing to the government for help.
We have heard nothing from your office on this subject so could please send out an update on your involvement and position on this subject.
As I candidly said to you before, the elected official that spearheads this project to success will have a seat in government for life.
