You may have noticed recently that your server, cashier, or retail store attendant looks a little young and you’re correct in making this observation. We are seeing many more high school students working in our small businesses on the Sunshine Coast. During the summer, when there were drastic staff shortages, many of these students stepped up and worked long hours so that we could enjoy our lattes, and shop at our favourite stores.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank those students. As small business owners on the Sunshine Coast, we feel you have saved many small businesses during a very challenging time. We would also like to thank all of the parents for shuttling students back and forth from their shifts as they could not have done this without you. To those students, we see you, we appreciate you, and we love you!
