Have you recently tried going out for a beer or a dinner at one of our local restaurants and found it to be closed? Or maybe it was open, but with reduced hours? It appears that we on the Coast have a shortage of restaurant staff and after digging into it a bit, it seems like one of the many factors for this shortage is the cost of living here. More specifically, the cost of housing, whether you are renting or trying to buy. This is when it occurred to me: renting out my little cabin at top dollar might have contributed to this unsustainable situation where we found ourselves without a patio to enjoy the sunset on a summer’s evening.

For that, I want to apologize to you all.

I would love to have these establishments be open more often. And I think I might be able to do something in a small way to make that a possibility.
