In reading the Sept. 3 letter “Deluded like Don Quixote,” I had no problem agreeing with the description of anti-vaxxers as delusional. To see them as Erin Brockovich-like romantic fighters of the forces of evil is a big stretch, but I get the comparison. But the recent hurling of obscenities, stones and abuses at Canadian politicians or engaging in violent conflict with health-care workers and the obstruction of health-care services reminds me that there is a much more serious problem and that even though the Davis Bay protest group might refrain from those methods, they are nonetheless defined by the loudest voices of their message. None of those voices have rationally explained to me why my exercising my freedom to choose a vaccine to protect myself and my fellow citizens should be violently confronted. So, until a plausible explanation happens or until the end of this life-and-death threat, I don’t have the interest or want to take the time to see the Don Quixote in them. But I certainly do see the Don Corleone!
