In recent weeks several SCRD staff have been verbally abused by residents of this community. Just this week another staff member was specifically targeted in a flyer distributed by an organization. Our staff are dedicated, hardworking and all pulling together with our best efforts to make the Sunshine Coast an incredible place to live. Abuse or targeting of staff is completely unacceptable and will result in the SCRD losing talented people who are working to make a difference.
I respectfully request residents to think twice before posting on social media, cursing down a phone or sending an angry email. Your comments are not going to an organization, they are being read and felt by real people who are also your fellow community members.
