Letters: Road ‘improvements’ wreaking havoc

Editor:

On Friday morning, Elphinstone Ave was and is awash in new gravel from the edges of our new asphalt road. Fisher is a mess with washouts at the edge of the old road. What will happen tomorrow and Sunday?  One night of rain and this is what we got!

At present one owner on the even side of Elphinstone has her own self-made ditch from all the water!

Plain and simple, it’s a mess and will only get worse in time.

We live in a rain forest. Can’t we build a ditch that works?

All these engineers from both bodies of government and you cannot figure it out. Should have been planned years ago. What’s next?

Please don’t turn on the new Elphinstone wells until you have the ditching figured out! We don’t want to add fuel to the fire.

I would suggest some of the SCRD Board should have a look as well as a few contracted out independent engineers that have experience in flooding and its control?

I will take my pick axe out tomorrow morning and start digging on the property opposite mine just in case?
