Letters: Repaint the other Redrooffs lines too

'I’ve had to come a complete stop traveling the road because of losing sight of it due to the blinding effect. I hope those who understood the serious necessity to repaint the centre line of Redrooffs Road will also see the same necessity to repaint the side lines.'

I’m writing in regards to the painted road lines on Redrooffs Road. I wrote to Coast Reporter previously about the faded and worn centre line that made it hazardous driving at night and especially when it was raining. I was very grateful that the letter had been printed and caught the attention of those who are responsible for maintaining road safety therefore leading to the centre line being repainted.

I would also like to suggest that the white lines on the outside edges of the roadway be repainted. Being that most of Redrooffs Road is unlit at night, people will use their high beam headlights. With the new generation of high intensity headlights and the fact that drivers will often forget to dim them, it creates a blinding effect where the road side lines are the only way to maintain sight of the roadway.

I’ve had to come a complete stop traveling the road because of losing sight of it due to the blinding effect. I hope those who understood the serious necessity to repaint the centre line of Redrooffs Road will also see the same necessity to repaint the side lines.
