Premier Horgan’s recent reply on using police resources for vaccine passport compliance when entering business and venues is ridiculous. Just recently our daughter was involved in an accident in town caused by the other driver who was alleged to be impaired, had her vehicle impounded and given a 90-day driving suspension. Unfortunately, criminal charges were not pursued against the other driver “due to insufficient police resources,” as it was explained to my daughter. My grandson suffered broken hands, and bruising, my daughter was also very bruised and sustained neck issues while my grandson’s father was knocked unconscious and sustained a brain hematoma. The car is written off and with the ICBC no-fault policy and lack of resources, they are in financial hardship. The no-fault ICBC system has made matters worse, especially now that criminal charges are not being laid against the other driver.
I am all for vaccines, I was born in the tropics and had mandatory vaccine requirements to immigrate to Canada, but introducing this new policy on businesses without sufficient resources is making it even tougher for our police to do their job and not helping our businesses who are already suffering financially.
