There is a magnificent tree in full bloom at 995 Rosamund off Pratt in Elphinstone. There are very few in the area so gardeners might be interested. Albizia julibrissin is its name. It is about 20 years old. The leaves close at night so the Persian name shabkhosb means night sleeper. The petals are tiny, but each flower has a mass of long pink stamens. Hummingbirds love the flowers.
