As an occasional visitor to Sechelt, I have a tourism suggestion for the powers that be.
I think it would be wonderful if there was an oceanside walking path in Sechelt itself, similar to the one in Davis Bay.
I know there USED to be such a path, from Friendship Park to Snickett Park, but that has obviously been turned into a bicycle route.
Indeed, we made the mistake of walking there yesterday, not realizing this change in usage, and were struck twice by people on bikes while just a few feet from the parking area, one collision resulting in an injury.
(Electric bikes are quite fast, quite heavy and quite quiet, able to sneak up unnoticed from behind and send one sprawling.)
And if I may, I have a second suggestion. Since this path is no longer safe for pedestrians, Sechelt may want to add some signage, warning foot traffic to stay away. We didn’t know, and paid a heavy price as a result.
