Don’t assume anything. The Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Naturopaths, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture do not require their registrants to be COVID immunized. As of Oct. 12, the College of Massage Therapists will require their registrants to be immunized. Bonnie Henry had mandated that only those physicians working in provincial health facilities are required to be immunized. After much controversy, now as of Oct. 26, also nurses working in public health care facilities will have to be immunized.

Whatever view you may have about COVID immunization, you deserve to know if your health provider working in a community office is COVID immunized. In my opinion, every office is ethically bound to prominently post the vaccine status of the staff and include this information when patients/clients call for an appointment. Then you can decide to make the appointment or not, depending on how you feel about the vaccine. Most health providers ask the patient/client their immunization status, so why not the other way around? Freedom is important but without the accurate free flow of information, freedom is meaningless.
