dominated by forever-constant war,
With impossible-solution conflicts
and hyper destructive weapons
flung and launched
by both sides
into death, into destruction
into suffering and ongoing generational trauma —
With all that
all the time
An alternative to this kind of world
unfolds across Canada
begun in trama and genocide
Led by Canada’s indigenous peoples
we gather in solidarity
we march in orange
we manifest the work of reconciliation
of truth & witnessing & change
on the National Day of Truth & Reconciliation
This is a model what we are capable of
as a species
We can yearn for peace & justice
we can make and have a world
that heals
instead of
making more war
