Letters: Nothing lacking in end-of-life care

It seems that every day we hear about the stress and strain the health care system is under and I too have experienced that. But nothing was lacking during this past week, the last week of my mom’s life.

She was able to stay in her room at Shorncliffe Care Home and that was such a blessing.

After a stroke she survived for another five days and the staff were able to keep her comfortable near the end of her life.

To the hospice volunteers who helped and to all the staff at Shorncliffe, you have my deepest thanks for your loving kindness in what is often a very difficult job. Mom felt safe, comfortable and truly cared for.

As mom would sometimes say: You were real angels.
