It’s been a while since I’ve listened to classical music. Especially at a Lutheran Church. Karen Foster and Val Rutter (Kara Val) bobbed, weaved, and swayed about while playing the violin, piano, and recorder. The sanctuary swelled with note perfect harmonies. Small samples of Dvorjak (was he Russian or Ukranian?), Elgar, and other moderns came and went. Karen and Val introduced the tunes, and their little jokes sent ripples of laughter through the well dressed crowd.
The minister closed with a remark about enjoying music in the house as a youngster. The church people served drinks. The sun shone outside, while looking out Davis Bay, a great cloud of wildfire rolled across the island.
