Re: “Dogs in vehicles” item in Police Report, July 9.

I would like to bring to people’s attention that when driving an electric vehicle, it is now the new norm to leave pets, children, and the elderly in a vehicle with all the windows closed and the air-conditioner on. What better way is there to keep the occupants cool without polluting the environment in a heat wave? I would suggest before wasting the time of the police and their resources to check whether you can hear the AC running and the occupants are not panting and in distress.
