Reporters for the three major TV networks have made it clear where they stand. In the pocketbook of our Liberal government that provides thousands of dollars to “supportive” media outlets.
The portrayal of tens of thousands of peaceful demonstrators in Ottawa this weekend by the legacy media managed to focus on the very few carrying a Nazi or confederate flag (there were bound to be a few idiots within a group of thousands). Similarily, a few fools parked on the steps of the National War Memorial and “…an idiot danced on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.” Those people reportedly were draped with Quebec flags, but the media didn’t indicate it may have been part of a Quebec nationalist movement. The statue of our beloved Terry Fox was not desecrated as the legacy media’s slanted portrayal reported, but was draped with a Canadian flag as a cape and held a sign of support for the protest. The items were removed after a short time and the statue was not painted, damaged or defaced, unlike many in the USA at the hands of Antifa supporters.
This demonstration revealed the support of tens of thousands in Ottawa, thousands along roadways from Vancouver to Ottawa and more than 1,000 long haul trucks. The reprehensible behaviour of the media however, put the focus on the actions of a few.
Similarly, Trudeau referred to the thousands of people gathered as “people who do not support truckers or the vast majority of Canadians.” Is it that this very significant show of support is anything more than a “small fringe minority holding unacceptable views of Canadians?” Really, Mr. PM! The next election can’t come soon enough. We can only hope that Canadians who truly want freedom will not forget politicians who only show contempt for those who make Canada work.
