Letters: Last parade from Wharf

Editor:

This Saturday, Nov. 11, will mark the 50th and last Remembrance Day reception at the Sechelt Legion on Wharf Avenue, and it will also be our last parade from Wharf Avenue, as we will move into our new Legion in the new year.

All local first responders, search and rescue groups, community service groups and of course Veterans, are welcome to join us on parade. Everyone is welcome at the ceremony, and we ask that you join us at the Cenotaph by 10:45 a.m. After the ceremony, you are welcome to join us at our Wharf Avenue location, for the reception.

As the parade will require that traffic be diverted off highway 101, we ask that you plan your travels accordingly. Please be respectful of the parade and the service. With wars raging around the world the message of Remembrance Day and the Poppy are even more poignant this year. Lest we Forget, we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.

President Branch 140, Sechelt
