I hope that the Coast Reporter will keep us all informed of the total costs, direct and indirect, of this ongoing saga. The present and previous mayor, councillors and District of Sechelt staff have denied responsibility for what has happened at this development over the past three years. Why do the warning bells keep on ringing?
Anyone who knows this development site had doubts about its suitability for housing. It is surrounded by sand banks and houses on the water side that were started but abandoned after the foundations were completed. Perhaps we are nearing the end of this sad story and, as is so often the case, no one is to blame and the poor old taxpayer must fund all of the, what may well be, very substantial costs.
