Letters: Install light at Teredo street

Can anyone explain why we have no pedestrian activated light at Teredo Street and Trail Avenue, which dozens of people risk their lives to cross daily, while at the Sunshine Coast highway and Monkey Tree Lane the Ministry of Transportation recently completed an intersection upgrade including a pedestrian activated crossing light?

To date, I have never seen anybody use this light. Why was it put in at this location of little use, while the Ministry of Transportation will not install one at Trail Avenue, which crosses the same Sunshine Coast Highway at Teredo Street?  It would be nice if our local MLA and the local ministry staff, located on Teredo Street, would see that this pedestrian light is installed before someone is seriously injured or killed at this busy pedestrian  crossing.
