Letters: I nearly learned the hard way you can't step over downed powerlines

I want to express my extreme gratitude to Lane and Bobbi for saving me from my ignorance and for possibly saving my life. As I was out walking Saturday morning, they went out of their way to stop me from walking near a downed line. I most likely would have continued to walk thinking I could just step over it. Never ever walk near a downed line. You won’t know if it is live or not until it is too late. If you don’t know the proper procedures, please research them on sites like BCHydro.com. You don’t want the conversation of how you could have handled the situation better to be with St. Peter.
