As our treasured community endures these challenging storms, bringing in record rainfalls and winds, it’s heartwarming to see the “neighbourhood spirit.” The most attractive local resource for those of us who call the Sunshine Coast “home” is alive and well here in Roberts Creek.
After Beach Avenue washed out (again) in the early morning, stranding residents west of Margaret Road with no ability to drive out of the area, or to have medical or fire emergency vehicles access our area, local residents gathered in force in the afternoon of Nov. 15 to remove the boulders placed at the top of Park Avenue that had earlier prevented vehicle access into the Roberts Creek Provincial Campground. The berm was levelled and raked to allow residents to temporarily drive through the campground to access the Sunshine Coast Highway.
The Sunshine Coast offers so much but it is the residents and their generous spirit that makes our community such a desirable location to call home!
