BC Ferries’ website is usually wrong when it comes to loading percentages for each sailing. This leads to false hope for the travelling public and even more travellers arriving at the terminal. This is because the numbers only reflect reservations and those vehicles that made it through the terminal booths. You can have kilometres of backed-up traffic resulting in 2-3 sailing waits which are not reflected on the website.
Would it be too much trouble for the flaggers to forward estimates to be incorporated into the website at Horseshoe Bay? They usually have the cars separated by destination back on the highway. The math wouldn’t be difficult and the toll booths are closed between sailings. Plenty of time to do this.
