All students of SD46 have been touched by the verve and care of Bev Shaw from Talewind Books, as she helped recommend and source titles for our school libraries, and supported the district Coast Reads initiative. The range of titles she stocked for every age and interest has made it possible for kids to know their next favourite book is on the shelf in Sechelt. As teacher librarians, we recognize what an invaluable support for literacy Bev was, but she also lit up her store with her sunny, peppy, sparky self. She was one of the reasons to look forward to popping into Talewind on the way home from work, not just to pick up a school book order, but to engage in real conversation with a delightful person. We will greatly miss her presence and her expertise. Heartfelt condolences to the family.
