Letters: Accessibility not an issue at Boulevard

I hope that we do not elect a new council for Sechelt this year that tries to use accessibility as a reason to not once and for all, eliminate vehicular traffic from the Boulevard. This beautiful and enjoyable walk is accessible for all.  It is much more healthy and enjoyable for residents and visitors, especially the seniors and disabled, if they do not have to dodge vehicles and breathe in their fumes while enjoying the Boulevard.

In my eight years in Sechelt and walking the Boulevard, I rarely see vehicles with handicap signs parked along this block. This is not an acceptable argument for the Sechelt Council to stop from completing this beautiful asset for all residents and visitors to enjoy by eliminating all vehicle traffic from this block of the Boulevard. For all of those who wish to get their exercise, enjoy the fresh ocean air and watch nature at the seaside while sitting in their vehicles, please drive on another five minutes to Davis Bay where there is ample vehicle parking along the seaside. Please don’t spoil our Boulevard or suggest that removing the vehicles would deny access to people who are elderly, infirmed or have disabilities, this is not true.
