Letter: We are all to blame for the climate crisis

'It takes every single person on this planet to come together now, or there is no hope for our precious planet.'

Editor:

I of course agree with Dr. Michael Klein “Where the blame lies” in the Aug. 25 issue. The fossil fuel industry has a huge part in our climate disaster.

However, we are all to blame. The facts have been out there for a very long time. There have been so many “doomsayers” that in retrospect have had things right (David Suzuki, Indigenous peoples and Wade Davis come to mind). Control population growth, save the forests, protect all species, conserve precious resources, control pollution, recycle, conserve precious water sources, protest against big business and big oil and gas, etc. ad infinitum.

Are we or were we listening?  Do we or did we try to understand? Have we made a difference?

It takes every single person on this planet to come together now, or there is no hope for our precious planet.
