Tree faller removes tree from road in May 2024

Editor:

As we all remember, it was windy last Thursday, and on Friday afternoon, I walked down to my local mailbox in the 8500 block of Redrooffs Road only to see a tree now at 45 degrees across the road.  Fifteen minutes later, after I walked back home to get my phone, the tree had now completely fallen, and was now blocking the road.

It so happens that our local tree faller, The Tree Guy (Harrison Jones) was on his way home along Redrooffs when the first of his two trucks passed under the then precariously hanging tree.

The tree fell just after his first truck passed the tree, preventing Harrison from joining his other truck now a little farther down the road.  He phoned his other truck to return as they all waited for the Hydro truck to arrive as the tree was hung up on a service line to one of the houses.  Once permitted by the Hydro staff member, Harrison proceeded to tackle to tree, expertly limbing it such that the service line remained intact.  Within about 10 minutes, the Hydro staff member was able to temporarily raise the hanging service line to let the school bus and waiting traffic to pass.  How handy was it to have our local tree faller crew be on the spot to take care of the tree?  Well done Harrison!
