Editor:

Following the retirement of my GP, I find myself among the ranks of those “orphaned” patients on the Coast.

It took over a week of calling Sechelt Clinic every morning, to get an appointment. Now, with the closure of the Sechelt Medical Clinic, I don’t even have that option.

With no “walk in clinics” on the Coast, what should we do?  Our hospital is already overstretched and this is going to get worse if it’s the only place we can go for even minor ailments. Where will my medical records be? How can I get a referral to a specialist? I have lots of questions and no answers.

Please Coastal doctors and nurses, find a solution.  We need some kind of walk-in option until we get more doctors on the Coast.
