Mr. Trudeau has called a completely unnecessary election in the middle of a pandemic and a climate crisis only because he wants a majority in Parliament. Major parties hate minority government because it means they have to negotiate with the other parties in order to advance their agenda. They can’t just ram legislation through regardless of what the opposition or Canadians in general think. As a result, minority government gives Canadians, overall, better government. So let’s reward Mr. Trudeau in September with another minority government. We will all be the better for it and maybe even Mr. Trudeau will develop a little humility.
