Letter: Make your own BC Ferries board game

'Players spin to move and take a boarding card which may say things like: ferry cancelled due to crew shortage, wait one turn; or ferry accidentally drops anchor lose one turn; or congratulations you qualify for seniors discount, if mid-week take free spin; or whales spotted off starboard bow take free spin.'
Ferry 3
Queen of Surrey makes a turn on Route 3.

Editor:

I am sharing an idea for a board game the whole family can make at home. All you need is a map of Vancouver Island with Vancouver and Sunshine Coast, a spinner or dice and some tokens.

The objective is to travel in a circle from Langdale to Vancouver to Swartz Bay to Comox and back to Langdale, including any two gulf islands. Players spin to move and take a boarding card which may say things like: ferry cancelled due to crew shortage, wait one turn; or ferry accidentally drops anchor lose one turn; or congratulations you qualify for seniors discount, if mid-week take free spin; or whales spotted off starboard bow take free spin. While waiting, players can create a new card reflecting any possible ferry experience including weather, mechanical breakdowns, reservation shortage, payment system breakdown, or medical emergency. The possibilities are practically endless. Those pink and yellow cards you are given when you reserve work well.

Should anyone develop the game for sales, I will accept royalties. Happy holidays and have fun.
