Letter downright rude

Re: “An ill-timed question” by Caitlin Hicks, Letters, April 13.

I find it most interesting that every time the public does not agree with some of our local artists’ ideas, our opinions are deemed a “lemming-think thumbs down” – or as we were called in past involvement with this mob, “uneducated muscle.”

Why is it that when we don’t agree with their thoughts, creativity and concepts, we are mindless followers? Are we not allowed to have a different opinion without being called names?

It’s pretty shameful to want our tax dollars to fund your works and to get articles written about your endeavours in our local paper, but if we don’t agree with your vision, to write letters about us that are downright rude.

Be grateful – most businesses have to pay their own way with advertising, promoting and execution without any government funding.

Please start promoting your creativity without putting others down in your journey – and by the way, the paper that ran the full-page article on your idea is allowed to ask whatever “Question of the Week” they want to, considering it is their paper!
