Letter: Don’t buy into B.C.'s COVID kumbaya

Re: Bonnie Henry Support-Baldrey (Jan. 21 Coast Reporter).

It appears that Mr. Baldrey has had a good, long drink of the Kool Aid that is generously provided by the BC government on an almost daily basis in their ‘kumbaya’ news conferences. In praising Dr. Henry’s laid back, calm demeanour, Baldrey ignores the fact that Dr. Henry denied for a long time that the virus was airborne. Ignored the fact that B.C. continued to insist on waiting six months between second and booster doses, denying people who wanted boosters and instead pushing anti-vaxxers to get their shots. He also insists that B.C.’s numbers are better than a lot of Canada. How would he know? With testing virtually disappeared, nobody knows the real numbers. And hospitals are full. The media needs to hold politicians’ feet to the fire...not join them in the kumbaya sing-a-long.
