Let's get our priorities straight

Thank-you Dianne Goldberg for putting into words exactly what I was thinking after reading the Sept. 4 issue (Coast Reporter, letters, Sept. 11).

All week I was trying to put my anger and sadness on paper, but you said it perfectly.

How can we think of spending $30,00 in Sechelt and a total of $80,000 on the Coast for a one-day "party" for the Olympic Torch Relay? Can we ignore the real needs on our Coast? Are you listening Mayor Inkster and Mayor Janyk? Let's do something worthwhile for our citizens - something that will last longer then a few hours. Let's get our priorities straight and put our government's money where it can do some good.

Let's set an example for our governments. I can not sit back and do nothing to help the young people of Arrowhead. I challenge all businesses and individuals on our Coast to join me and make a difference. I am donating $1,000 to Arrowhead and with every donation, large and small, we can make a difference in the lives of these people who do not choose mental illness.
