I was one of the founders who helped set up the parkway in Davis Bay by stopping the left-hand turn at Davis Bay Road. In Sechelt there is no place for our children to play with their bikes, roller skates, roller blades or anything. We need a landscaper to look at the whole park as it stands now and work out how to make the sidewalks safer and wider.
This seaside park is an asset to Sechelt and to the whole Sunshine Coast. Someday it will become the most important tourist destination on the Sunshine Coast – why not now? Let’s build that park in our lifetime. It needs work before it is that beautiful oceanside park that tourists will see coming from Vancouver, but we need an overall plan! Right now all you see coming around the corner are spotty looks at the ocean views between huge seven-foot-tall pickups, 4x4 trucks and cars blocking this outstanding one-of-a-kind landscape, and few places to stop and park on the land side of the highway. We need a landscaper to work out the future of this potential coastal destination. If you have done any travelling you know what I am talking about. This could be a heritage British Columbia destination seaside park if we had intelligent planning.
