It is beyond me why anyone, especially a government employee, would be using a leaf blower in this time of climate crisis. They waste energy and create noise pollution. The gas models add to carbon emissions. I have seen SCRD workers using that obnoxious machine on wet paths near Shirley Macy Park. Last week someone was blowing leaves off the gravel around the newly renovated Granthams Hall. Leaves compost, can be raked, ignored, shovelled. I wish no one would ever use leaf blowers, but as a taxpayer, I sure don’t want to think I’m actually paying someone to do it.
Let’s ban leaf blowers on the Coast!
